It’s recommended to drink at least eight glasses of water a day to stay hydrated, while it’s not an easy task for most of us to keep up with that. The good news is that you can consume some fresh vegetables and fruits to keep you hydrated this summer, as lots of them are more than 80 percent water. Following are some good choices:

1. Cucumbers

Cucumbers have a water content more than 90 percent. In fact, it has the highest water content of any solid food. So eat this summer veggie, no matter in salads or in soup, it can actually help the body not only stay hydrated, but flush out toxins as well.

 2. Celery

Celery is rich in antioxidants and can also act as an anti-inflammatory. Plus, it’s also one of the water-rich vegetables that can help you stay hydrated and cool in summer.

3. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are 94 percent water, and can also help keep your skin looking great. They are also rich in anti-oxidant, Lycopene that cleanses the body from toxins and also works well for repairing the sun damaged skin.

4. Green peppers

Green peppers are juicy and chock full of water, and are also excellent sources of antioxidants.

 5. Cauliflower

It’s more than 90 percent water and packed with vitamins as well as phytonutrients that have been shown to help lower cholesterol and fight cancer, including breast cancer.

6. Watermelon

Watermelon is more than 90 percent water too. They’re also excellent sources of vitamin A, C, and B6. These are best served ice cold in summer.

 7. Broccoli

Broccoli is also very good source of both vitamin A and vitamin K. Try adding finely chopped pieces of broccoli to any salad to increase your water intake.

8. Grapefruit

Grapefruits are extremely tangy and juicy. And aside from being a great source of water, it’s also loaded with vitamin C, which can help boost your immune system.

9. Spinach

Spinach has a high water content too, it’s also rich in lutein, potassium and fiber, and just one cup of raw leaves contains 15% of your daily intake of vitamin E—an important antioxidant for fighting off the damaging molecules known as free radicals.
